2025 AMI Spelling Bee Champion Named

Alma Martinez Intermediate, STEM and Fine Arts Academies held its annual school-wide Spelling Bee on December 12, 2025. Hundreds of students competed in individual class spelling bees, and the winning students from each ELAR class period competed in our school bee. The school spelling bee is part of the Scripps Spelling Bee Competition, which is in its 100th year.

Congratulations to 6th grade AMIS school-wide Spelling Bee Champion, Nyckthan Nguyen , and runner-up 5th grade artist, Kaitlynn Scott! The learners battled for 9 rounds before Nyckthan won by spelling the championship word “assignment.”  Nyckthan will move on to compete in the district bee at the Performing Arts Center on February 6  against the top spellers from each elementary, intermediate, and middle school in the district. Congratulations, Nyckthan, and good luck in your next round of spelling!
