This week we will have our Math State Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test. 5th graders will be testing on Tuesday, May 2nd and 6th graders will be testing on Wednesday, May 3rd. Schedules, including lunch will be altered on these two days, and we will be closed to visitors. If you need to bring your child something they may have forgotten or will need during the day, you are certainly welcome to drop off those items in the front office but we will not be allowing visitors for lunch on these dates.
In order to help our students be as successful as possible on these assessments please remind your child to charge his/her laptop or Chromebook the night before testing and bring their fully charged school issued device with the charger on testing day. If your child's school issued device is damaged or broken and out or waiting for a repair we will have a device to loan them for testing. Students are not able to access the state's secure test browser on personal devices.
There are no cell phones, smart watches, or blue-tooth headphones allowed on testing days. We recommend your child leaves those devices at home on testing days. If you prefer your child have their device with them please note that all devices; cell phones, smart watches, blue-tooth headphones, etc. will be collected from students who are testing, at the beginning of the day, labeled with the child's name and kept locked up until all students on campus have completed testing for the day. If you have an emergency or need to get a message to your child please contact our front office and we will make sure to communicate your message to your child. Our main office number is: 682-320-9250.
Please help your child to get a good night's sleep the night before testing and eat a healthy breakfast. If your child will be eating breakfast at school please make sure they arrive by 8:15 so they have plenty of time to eat prior to test sessions beginning. We want all of our Navigators to be present on testing days but if your child is not feeling well, running a fever, vomiting or having diarrhea please keep him/her home. Make-up tests will be offered for the Math test through Friday, May 12, 2023.
AMI will be a CLOSED CAMPUS the following STAAR Testing days: April 18, 19, 25, May 2 & 3. No visitors are allowed on campus. Please avoid coming up to campus to drop off items. If possible, do not schedule doctor's appointments or early pick up on these days.
